French Dining Room
An opulent bright room with views of the river and estate
Plan a business meeting or event in the captivating French Dining Room at Cliveden House.
Flooded with natural daylight and adorned with intricate gilded panelling, it's one of The House's most dazzling rooms, complete with beautiful views overlooking the river and National Trust estate.
It was on a visit to Paris in 1897 that William Waldorf Astor was shown the ornate gilded panelling in Madame de Pompadour's 18th century dining room at the Château d’Asnières. The proportions exactly matched those of the dining room at Cliveden House, resulting in him buying the panelling, table and chairs and having the room reconstructed in his home.
Seating up to 60 guests, the French Dining Room is a Rocco masterpiece retaining its extravagance to make for an incomparable private dining experience.
